Rev. Walter Winston Sisco

Funeral service for Rev. Walter Winston Sisco will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Mt Zion Baptist Church

with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Reverends Brooks Porter

and Zach Kilpatrick will officiate the service.

Rev. Sisco was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi September 19, 1938 to Mitchell Sisco and Ettie Mae Havis Sisco.

His journey on this earth was 82 years and he entered eternity February 28, 2021. Before answering the call to

preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Rev. Sisco served as deacon. He, along with his loving wife, Yvonne, pastored

several churches for over 50 years of total service. He loved to spend time in God’s creation and gardening was

a favorite hobby for him, but his family was the most important thing in his life, especially those grandchildren

and great grandchildren. His love of Jesus and sharing the gospel was the greatest part of his heart. He will be

greatly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his precious wife after 54 years of marriage, Yvonne Newell Sisco

and his brother, Marvie Sisco.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Danny Sisco (Rhonda), daughter, Tammy Porter (Dwayne), brother,

Earl Sisco (Alice Ann); sisters, Mary Gill and Eula Strittman; five grandchildren, Daniel Sisco (Erin), Dustin Sisco (Katelyn),

Blake Porter (Millie), Brooks Porter (Callie), Ashlyn Bales (Brad); and nine great grandchildren, Meridith Porter,

Anniston Porter, Cole Porter, J.H. Porter, Katy Bales, John Winston Bales, Eli Sisco, Emma Sisco, and Mamie Kate Sisco.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital 2500 N State Street Jackson, MS 39216.
