Thomas Glyn Tynes

A graveside service for Thomas Glyn Tynes will be 2 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021, at Riverwood Family,

with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park.

 

Mr. Tynes, 84, of Brookhaven, passed from this life January 11, 2021 at his residence.

He was born December 8, 1936, to his parents, Quin Tynes and Vera Mangun Tynes.

He was the owner of Tynes Gas Company and worked as a Realtor with Betsy Smith Realty.

Mr. Tynes was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Pete Tynes; and son-in-law, Mark Boyles.

 

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Becky Tynes; son, Thomas Glyn Tynes, Jr. (Ann);

daughters, Teresa Grant (Rocky), Lisa Tew (Michael), Gwen Boyles, Margaret Chamblee (Mark), Robin Hammond (Chris);

brother, Joe Tynes (Linda); sister, Betty Jean Tynes; nine grandchildren, Tommy Tynes, Brandon Tynes, Justin Tew, Jordan Tew,

Drew Hammond, Tate Hammond, Becca Hammond Winstead, Tabitha Scarbro, and Sabrina Aguilar.

He also leaves behind seven great grandchildren as well as other loving family members and friends.

    Thomas, Teresa and Lisa,

    Uncle Tommy was such a kind and gentle man. He will be sorely missed here on earth but in Heaven a saint in whom God rejoices to have home. Love to all his family
