Art Oestmann, brother in Christ, fellow Oklahoman, faithful Sooner, special friend, God's Man, and to me invincible in every way. It was my distinct honor to assist Midland in the ordination of Art and his venerable son, Mike, to the eldership of the church of Christ, This is one of the highlights of my so swiftly passing life. Our lives here are brimming full of such swift and unexpected transitions Two weeks ago tomorrow I was scheduled to come to Midland for a meeting, Mike planned too come west to fly me there, where as Mike told me I was invited by Art and Nan to stay with them, where I had stayed at meeting time many times before I could not have been more grateful. What joyful anticipation! This now can never be, due to no one's fault or failing. I, so swiftly turning 94, will soon, at the longest, be following Art to realms above, the eternal morning having broken, life's dark shadows forever passed. 'Til then, farewell, my dear friend, and "may God hold you firmly in the palm of His sheltering hand.
